*SIGH* It's amazing to me how much Sydney seems to have grown lately. The other day I was walking behind her and I was shocked to see how tall she's gotten. I mean, you don't seem to notice it when you are around them so often. But it occurred to me that she will be 5 on her next birthday and I could have cried. She is no longer a baby or even a toddler. She's a little girl. It's bittersweet. I would like to keep her as a baby for longer, but know that's not how it works. So I will adjust.
Anyway, with all this growing comes new things. Yesterday she helped Mason empty the dishwasher and put all the silverware away by herself!!! I was impressed - she put them all in the right spots.
Now for the biggest change. Miss Sydney does NOT like water anywhere near her face or her ears - I mean NO WAY, NO HOW!!! She flips out. Well last night, I was giving her a bath (there's a theme to my blogging lately...lol) and she started to lay back and I had my hand under her neck. She told me to let go. I said, "Sydney if I let go, your ears will go under water." She looked at me for a few seconds and said "That's ok - let go." So I very slowly let go and she laid there with her head and ears immersed in the water. I was SHOCKED!!! And she sat up and didn't freak out. I told her what a big girl she was and we had to call Daddy and Mason in to see. And of COURSE I had to get a picture of it!!! :)

So then last night, she was brushing her teeth (she was supposed to wait for me but got ahead of herself - Miss Independence) and I hadn't pulled her hair up. Well she got a whole bunch of toothpaste in her hair and we didn't realize it until this morning. :( So I told her that we needed to wash her hair again (there was A LOT). She asked if we could do it in the sink and I said, "Well you'd have to hold your head over the sink and it might run in your eyes - are you sure you want that?" She said "Sure, let's try it!" And what do you know - it went great!!!! :)
(Btw, this was at 6:30 this morning - hence the dark windows - and she was perfectly fine with it! I was so proud of her!)

SUCH a big girl!!! :)
