Unexpected Fun in the Pool

On Sunday, it was a beautiful day and the kids wanted to go in the pool. It was beautiful, but I had so many things to do I couldn't afford to "relax" and enjoy the pool. I had thrown on a pair of white cotton shorts and a white t-shirt - working around the house clothes. Sydney was in the pool and she can't be in by herself. So I stood in the pool and watched her swim. It felt wonderful (it only comes up to right above my knees). She asked me to put her arm floaties on and after I did, she started to slip and fall. I reached out real quick to grab her and my foot slid right out from underneath me. Well, you can imagine - DOWN I went and fast!!! Right under the water, clothes and all!! The four of us got a real kick out of it and I was actually laughing hardest of all!! What a KLUTZ!!! Remember now what color shorts I said I had on - you can imagine my embarassment. Well since we are pretty secluded in our back yard, I figured I might as well enjoy the water for a little bit, so Sydney and I floated around the pool for a while. It really was quite comical and actually quite a bit of "unexpected" fun!!! :)

The lazy days of summer...
Guess it could have been worse.

Me and my baby...

Where does the time go...

Well my "baby" met his second grade teacher today! SECOND GRADE?!?!!? Is this really possible? He only has 2-half days left of first grade. Then he's a second grader. Wow!

He will move to a new school, have a new bus driver on a new route and a new teacher. He went today to tour the new school and Mrs. McFeaters will be his teacher. He said she's very nice and he really liked her. Turns out she goes to our church. She must be ok then huh? ;) I'm anxious to meet her.

I just have a lump in my throat thinking about all of this. *sigh* It all goes so fast. I was warned but I just didn't believe it. I do now.

What would summer at the Moore house be without...

...THE REDNECK POOL!!!! :)
Yes, we had the grand RE-opening of the Redneck pool yesterday. Although the day was hot, the water was C.H.I.L.L.Y.!!!! But that didn't stop my kids. They were loving it!!! I was pleasantly surprised by how courageous Sydney was. Last year she was terrified, but this year she jumped right in and had a ball!! In fact, I couldn't get her out. Her lips were chattering and everything appeared purple (lol) but she loved it!!! Here are a couple shots - more on Dropshots (including a video)!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!

Saturday we celebrated Daddy's birthday!! The kids and I brought his presents outside and sang Happy Birthday to him. It was a beautiful day. It was a pretty low key celebration but still important. Here are a couple shots from the "party"!!!!

(Good pic of Syd's new "do"!)

The grow up, don't they...

*sigh* Yep, they do!! As hard as we try to keep them as babies, they do grow up. And sometimes you can really see it.

I was looking at Sydney on Saturday morning and she just looked a MESS!!! I wish I had thought to take a picture of her. Her hair was everywhere, just STRAGGLY and messy looking. It was almost down to her waist and it just didn't look healthy. So I decided it was time for a cut. And I don't mean a trim. So after Mason's game - we headed to the hairdresser.
I think the girl took close to 4 inches off. I'm not "crazy" about the cut - I don't think she did the best job on it, but I do think she looks very cute. But notice how GROWN UP she looks. She doesn't look like a baby anymore. :(

Out of the mouths of babes...

We went to Mason's baseball game last night - we only have 3 games left and I'll be sad to see them go. I really enjoy them!! They have improved so much and Mason is awesome!!! (But that's another post!!)

So Sydney and I were sitting on a blanket watching the game and she said "Mommy, guess what? I can count in Spanish!" I was very intrigued and said "Ok, tell me!" She said..."Uno, Seis, Nachos!!!!" Oh my gosh, I about fell off the blanket - it was SO cute!!! I couldn't help but laugh - it was precious!! And I KNEW it was something I had to write down. Like I said, Out of the mouths of babes!!!! :)

She comes out with the best stuff - so stayed tuned - there will be more!!! :)

To start a blog....

Hmmm, with today's technology - I'm probably missing the boat not to have a blog. I mean, doesn't EVERYONE???? So I thought I'd give it a try and see if I can manage to keep up with this thing. I'm not great about keeping up with either of the kid's baby books or my scrapbooks or the laundry or the housework......but I digress!!! :) Let's see if I can do better with this! So anyway, welcome to the life and times of the crazy Moore family. Life IS crazy and I wonder if it will ever slow down!?!?! Stop by, check in often - hope you enjoy reading our updates!!! Oh and don't forget the comments - I LOVE to get the feedback!!! :)
