Trust

Wow - that's a HUGE word for 5 little letters. I mean, think about it - about what it means, about just how BIG it is.

What brought this up? Well Saturday night, I was giving Sydney a bath. She was in a very silly mood (typical) and was fooling around. It was late and I was tired, so my patience was wearing thin and I was hurrying through it. Anyway, when it was time to get out, I had her turn around (back to me) as I always do so I could wrap the towel around her and scoop her up. Well she straightened up and basically did the Nestea plunge right out of the tub. THANKFULLY I was paying attention and was ready for her. She fell right into my arms. I looked at her (she was cracking up thinking that was so fun) and I said, "Well my goodness little girl - I guess you really trust your Mommy don't you."

It was just weird. She didn't hesitate for a moment, stop to think that I might not catch her. She had blind faith in the fact that I would. Trusts me...flat out...100%! That's huge.

It just made me think about trust - in general. How important it is. And how horrible it is when you lose it or when someone loses it in you. It's something that can be extremely difficult to get back - if you even can. And how do you get it back? I guess time is the only way. Stop to think about how many ways trust affects your life - with who...and in how many situations. It's a big thing, it's a fragile thing, an important thing...

Something to think about...

Well, you know where I stand all the whole "trust" subject, don't ya?! That's a sweet story of Syd -- of course her mommy will ALWAYS catch her!!
