My little man...

... is awesome!!! :)

Mason started off at pitcher tonight at his first game of the season! I was SO nervous but he did so GREAT!!! He pitched for 4 innings and allowed only ONE RUN!!! He struck out SEVEN batters!!! CAN YOU STAND IT??? We are SOO proud of him!

AND...he got A HIT!!! He finally broke his curse and got a base hit! He's been so locked up and unable to hit! But tonight he broke free of that! WAY TO GO MASON!!!

AND...he caught a fly ball and got an out! He was on fire tonight! He had SUCH a good game! The umpire even gave him the game ball!!!

What a great night!! Wish you could have been there Uncle Mike - you would have been so proud!

Check out our Dropshots page for more pics and videos of him pitching AND I even caught the fly ball on tape!! YAY!!!! http://www.dropshots.com/moorefam

SOO proud of you M&M!!!!! :)

Take me out to the ballgame...

It's baseball time again - YAY!!! I LOVE baseball season!! I love to go to the games, love to watch Mason play!!

At 8, he could have played on the Mustangs for one more year, but he really wanted to try out for the Ponies (9, 10 and 11 year olds - 8 yr olds can try out). So he did and he MADE IT!! :) We were so proud of him!!!

So here are a couple shots of him on the field!! Isn't he just so stinkin' cute??? :)

Up to bat! It's been an adjustment for him with batting. Those kids WHIZ those balls in and last year the coaches pitched. But he'll get it!! Just takes practice!

Ooo, almost!!! Gave it a good try!!!

His favorite place to be - behind the plate catching!!!

This picture is blurry but I love it because you can just see his determination. He's a little dynamo behind the plate - always moving. He loves it!!

And the best part, this year, Daddy volunteered to be one of the coaches!! Rex loves baseball and is SO good with the kids. It's been fun to have them both on the team!! :) Here he is looking on at Mason batting!

And here's my favorite little cheerleader!! :) She wasn't paying a bit of attention to the game - she'd rather run around with the other little kids. But every once in a while, you'd hear this little voice yell out "C'mon MASON! You can do it!!" So sweet!! :)

The only thing that would make Mason's games better, would be to have his Uncle Mike there to see him play. He would be so proud of him!! :)

Heard from the backseat...

We were driving home from my mom's house last night and Sydney was being really silly - singing loud and making up her own words to her "song" - it was rather comical. I was trying not to laugh because then she would stop and I was actually enjoying listening to her. (Not that it was "good" but I love to hear her use her imagination!)

Well she stopped for a minute (apparently she ran out of words for her "song") and Mason said,

"You really need singing lessons!"

I don't know if you had to be there or not for it to be funny, but it still cracks me up. He said it real matter of fact and serious!! I busted out laughing, which then cracked them up!!!

One of those moments... :)

(Candy, stealing your title!! Hope you don't mind!)

Prayers...

Prayer is such an important part of our family life. Our relationship with God is a key part of our family relationship. Often times I feel the need to ask others to help me lift our prayers up...this is one of those times.

My sister (I don't think of her as an in-law) Shannon is PREGNANT!!!! We are thrilled!! I'm asking that you pray for blessings on this child but also for Shannon. I ask that God gives her peace through this pregnancy and that the baby is healthy! You can visit Baby Boyd's (Lil' Peanut) site here: http://www.babyhomepages.net/babyboydlilpeanut/index.php

I ask that you pray for a couple that I've come to "know" through the world of blogging - Kurt and Kendall Manz. They are an amazing couple and have been through a lot. They lost their precious baby girl, Autumn, at birth this past October. I can't begin to imagine what they went through (and continue to go through), but their faith has kept them strong. And now God has blessed them with a new pregnancy!!! He is so good. Obviously, Kendall is scared. Please pray that God will give her peace and give her the ability to enjoy this pregnancy. Please pray that God will make this baby perfect and healthy! You can read their story at http://manzvillecanada.blogspot.com/ . I know she would be grateful for your prayers.

The neatest thing is that Shannon and Kendall are due one day apart. Shannon is due November 7th and Kendall is due November 6th. :)

I ask that you pray for our business. Things are so slow right now - slower than they've ever been. I ask that you please lift Rex up - that he may have peace and patience. I pray that God will increase the work soon so that we can relax a little.

And also, for a less "critical" prayer, but still important to me. My boss is considering letting me work a more flexible schedule so that my life can take on a better balance. We've talked about me either working 4 days a week or working shorter days, 5 days a week. I'm hoping for the 4 day week and trying not to get my hopes up. Please pray that God will give us what is best for us and that He will calm my hopes and allow me to accept His will.

Prayers are so important to us and I really appreciate you all lifting us and our family and friends up to God.

Thank you!!

A new milestone...

I feel like I'm posting to myself lately, but I'm happy to be keeping up with it. :)

Sydney came to me the other day and said "Mommy, I can read!" She's been trying lately and is really into it. She works really hard to sound out words and won't ask for help unless she gets stuck.

So she showed me the book she was talking about "Jog, Frog, Jog". It's a Step 1 reader book and perfect for her. And I'll be darned if she didn't sit down and read the whole book. And honestly, it wasn't from memorization because she stumbled and had to sound some words out. The only word she needed help with was "around"! I was SO proud of her and made a really big deal about it. She's doing so well and we couldn't be happier!

She wanted to show her Daddy that she could do it so I quick snapped a couple pics!!

She's funny - she tries to read everything she sees. This morning at breakfast she said "Mommy, this says 'Organic Lowfat Milk'!!" And it did!! :)

Way to go Sydney Bean - you'll be a reading whiz before you know it!!! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!!!! :)

How could I forget her?

As you can see, I changed the title of our blog. Even though I loved how it rhymed - how could I leave out Cheyenne?? She's a part of our family!!

(This is an old picture but I love it!)

We are seriously considering becoming a family of 6 and getting a puppy in the beginning of the summer. We are on a waiting list so we'll see what it brings. We'll get another Ridgeback of course. We are all pretty excited about the prospect of a new "baby"!! :)

If Spring won't come to the Moore's...

...then the Moore's will come to Spring!! Well...sort of!!! :)

We had an awesome weekend! Saturday was busy - blood donation for Mommy, birthday party for Mason, running errands. While I was out - I found something for Sydney that I've been wanting to get. It was half price - which was the "best" part!! :) I love to go bike riding but she's gotten too big to pull in the trailer we have and she's not big enough to ride her own bike. I found the perfect solution and she LOVED it!!! (If you click on the picture to see it bigger, you can see the smile on her face!)

She did so great on it. She was nervous at first but then off she went. It's great because she doesn't have to pedal if she doesn't want to and it doesn't stay right behind the big bike on turns so it doesn't lean over (which is what I was afraid of). So we all got to ride together and it was cold - we each had 2 sweatshirts on - but by gosh - we were going bike riding. And we did - we were gone almost 2 hours!!! But we had so much fun - we stopped halfway at our favorite pizza shop for a slice of pizza for dinner! (The owners are our friends and live next door to the shop, so we parked our bikes in their driveway!) We had a lot of fun and I hope to make it a regular occurrence (probably without the pizza...lol)!!

Mason is next in line for a new bike - he's outgrown his - but he still has a lot of fun on it!! :)

Then my mom came over and watched the kids so Rex and I could go out. It was great!! We went to a local bar (it's not what I would call a bar - it's gorgeous and SMOKE FREE!!!!) and had a couple drinks. We were only out for a couple hours but it was so nice to have the time alone to reconnect! We don't do it enough.

Sunday was a typical day - church, laundry, cleaning!!! Fun, fun!!! ;) But we did end it on a fun note - Mason and I and our friend Kori and her son, Rogan went to a Hershey Bears game!! Despite an obnoxious family in front of us (huh Kore?), we had a great time together! Too bad the Bears lost in OT!! :(

Sydney and Daddy had an ice cream sundae party while we were gone (Syd's not too crazy about hockey...lol)! Sadly the night ended rough with her having terrible ear pain and being awake ALL night (she has an inner and outer ear infection)!! So we are pretty tired now - but still enjoying all our memories of the weekend!!! :)
