Thoughts and prayers...

As I get ready to go to bed tonight, for the first time since I learned of Syd's surgery, I'm allowing myself to cry. I've held it in for 3 days and now it refuses to stay in.

My precious baby is having surgery tomorrow and I'm scared. Not because it's a major surgery or a dangerous surgery, but because it's scary.

I pray that God will wrap His loving arms around her and carry her through this surgery. I pray the doctors will be on their games and they will perform a successful surgery. I pray that Sydney breezes right through it and it doesn't change her at all. I pray that she isn't scared when she goes into surgery. I'm so thankful that Ilse will be with her - that gives me some peace. I pray that her tiny, fat little finger will heal perfectly and she'll have full range of motion. I pray that in a few days or months I will look back and think "wow that wasn't really so bad."

But for now, I pray that I will have the strength to make it through the morning without Sydney seeing me cry.

I know God's plan for my beautiful daughter is a long, healthy life and this is just a speed bump in her road. For that I am forever grateful....

Far behind...

It's been a while since I've blogged - no excuse, just fact.

Not a whole lot to say, just wanted you to know I'm still here!! :)

Rex and I got to go away for a weekend - ALL BY OURSELVES!!!! YAY!!!! It was HEAVENLY!!! We had such a great time together. If you want to see pictures of where we stayed - click on our Dropshots link on the right. It was beautiful!!!

Life continues to run full out - Mason in football, Syd in gymnastics and everything else.

But despite the pace, life is good and I am thankful!

One of those weekends...

...one of those AWESOME weekends!!!! :) I haven't had such a great weekend in a long time!!!

Friday night Rex went to MD for opening day of hunting. The kids and I went to my mom's for dinner. After we ate, some of my friends came over for a night of scrapbooking. I only got a couple pages done but really enjoyed just chatting and laughing. The kids went to sleep at my mom's and transferred back home really easily. The whole night was a success!! :)

Saturday morning we slept in a little bit and then I dropped Sydney off at Ilse's house and took Mason to practice with Dane and Dominic. He was supposed to practice throwing passes with his pads on (they haven't had much time for it at his practice) and who better to work on it with him. I even ended up getting in there and playing running back!! :) It was a beautiful crisp morning and we had a lot of fun. So then we went home and had lunch, I did laundry and the kids watched a movie. At 3pm I brought Syd to my parent's and I took Mason to the field for his game. My parents and Sydney came to the field and we all watched Mason play. Unfortunately, not such a great game - we got wallopped. The kids from Hershey were CONSIDERABLY bigger and stronger. So then I had promised Mason if he had a good week that we would stay after his game to watch the older kids play. So my parents took Sydney home with them and Mason and I stayed and watched the Pony's and part of the Midgets games. It was SO MUCH FUN!! I LOVED that one on one time with Mason. It was really chilly by that time, so he and I sat up at the top of the bleachers, huddled in a blanket. It was just great. The kids played well and it was more like real football than Mason's game. We both love football and it was awesome me and him time. :) So then grabbed Syd, baths for the kids and waited for Rex to get home.

Sunday morning was church and then HERSHEY PARK!!! Someone had given us tickets this summer and we wanted to use them before they expired. I really wasn't all that excited about going because of all the things around the house that needed to be done. But I thought - sometimes you have to just throw caution to the wind and say the heck with it. I'm SO glad I did. We had a FANTASTIC time. The weather was GORGEOUS!!!! 70 degrees and blue skies. It wasn't crowded, just a light crowd. We only waited in line for 2 rides. Sydney was big enough to ride a couple grownup rides with us, so the four of us got to ride together. The day was filled with laughs and smiles and good family time. It was just wonderful!!! :)

We had a nice dinner together and the night ended with my husband telling me that during church he imagined us renewing our vows at our 10 yr anniversary in our church. And he imagined himself writing his own vows. And the gist of it was that he loves me more today than he did 10 yrs ago. Can you imagine a more perfect ending to the weekend?? I can't remember when I've had a better one!

A girl can't get any luckier!!!! :) I thanked God EXTRA this morning for my blessings!!!!

Just thought I'd share!

I'm still here...

Just hanging on to sanity at this point. I am SO far behind on my posts and so far behind on my updates. However, nothing has slowed down. Life is still going 150 mph and I'm pedaling like to hell to stay at 100. *sigh* I asked Rex when I would stop being so tired and he said "When the kids move out!" GADZOOKS!!!! I don't think I can keep up this pace for that long!!! ;)

So I am behind by a lot of events (translation - pictures) - Caren visiting, Mason's first day of school, Mason's birthday party, Syd's first day of Gymnastics, etc. Since I can't possibly get all of that on a blog, I'm dropping the pictures onto Dropshots (link over at the top left). Stop by there, check out the pics, leave some comments if you have time (either there or here). I will have to post my pics of the Kruest visit from home - I don't have all the pics here! :( And I will do my best to try to get caught up and stay caught up. But I can't promise you anything!!! I try to goof off at work and do it but there's too much to do!!! LOL!!!

So anyway, thanks for not forgetting about me. I'm just terrible at keeping all the balls in the air. I was NEVER good at juggling!!!! ;)

It's like losing your arm...

I have been without Internet and email all weekend at home. ACK!!! Apparently something is wrong with the router and it's preventing the cable from working. Rex is supposed to have the guy who put it in come check it. I don't know enough about what he did to troubleshoot it.

Anyway, I hate to be cut off from the world. I had intended to update the blog, but for now, this will have to do.

Another promise for an update soon!!!

Thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes!!!! I'm WAY to close to 40 now. :(

Ay yi yi...

I have been wanting to post since Monday but this week has been ridiculous. Monday was the first day of school and I came in late and left early so the work day was shot. And work this week has been SOO busy (today is no exception)!! Then my nights have been just as bad. Mason still has football practice EVERY night from 5:30-7:30 (thankfully he's off tonight and next week they go to 3 nights a week 5:30 -7). So till he gets home and showered, then I get him fed and to bed, it's after 9pm and I'm POOPED - too pooped to get online. So I'm seriously behind. I want to post about Mason's first day of school and our visit with the Kruest's and I promise I will - bear with me!!!

Tonight my mom and I are going to see Hairspray - that should be fun!! Ahhh, downtime!!! :) And then tonight at midnight, I head over the hill!!!! *sniff, sniff* Where has the time gone!?!?!

Anyway, more from me soon - I promise!!! If you are reading this or check in occasionally, thanks for not giving up on me!! :)

The Kruest's are coming, the Kruest's are coming...

We are very excited in the Moore household because Caren, Steve, Haley and Avery Kruest (our friends from Ohio) are coming to stay with us for the weekend. It's a hub of activity - cleaning and organizing and preparing for their visit. They come the last weekend in August every year and it's ALWAYS a good time (Steve goes to the Corvette show in Carlisle - one of these times we fully expect him to come back in a Vette!!!). The kids love to have them here and were very excited this morning when they woke up..."They are coming TONIGHT!!!!" :)

We have a busy weekend planned and I'm sure I'll have some fun pictures and stories on Monday (ok, well maybe Tuesday... :) )

So Mason had his first scrimmage in football last night and I think it overwhelmed him. Unlike practice, it was a continuous activity - with no break. He ended up leaving the game about 3/4 of the way through with a bad headache. We're thinking maybe his helmet is the wrong size. They told us it should be tight but maybe it's too tight. He has another scrimmage tonight - we'll see if it goes any better.

Thought I'd add a funny quote that I saw recently - Princess Diana said it and I like it!!

"They say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but how about a compromise like moderately rich and just moody?" :) That made me laugh!! Sounds like a plan to me!!!!

Have a great day!!!!
