...one of those AWESOME weekends!!!! :) I haven't had such a great weekend in a long time!!!
Friday night Rex went to MD for opening day of hunting. The kids and I went to my mom's for dinner. After we ate, some of my friends came over for a night of scrapbooking. I only got a couple pages done but really enjoyed just chatting and laughing. The kids went to sleep at my mom's and transferred back home really easily. The whole night was a success!! :)
Saturday morning we slept in a little bit and then I dropped Sydney off at Ilse's house and took Mason to practice with Dane and Dominic. He was supposed to practice throwing passes with his pads on (they haven't had much time for it at his practice) and who better to work on it with him. I even ended up getting in there and playing running back!! :) It was a beautiful crisp morning and we had a lot of fun. So then we went home and had lunch, I did laundry and the kids watched a movie. At 3pm I brought Syd to my parent's and I took Mason to the field for his game. My parents and Sydney came to the field and we all watched Mason play. Unfortunately, not such a great game - we got wallopped. The kids from Hershey were CONSIDERABLY bigger and stronger. So then I had promised Mason if he had a good week that we would stay after his game to watch the older kids play. So my parents took Sydney home with them and Mason and I stayed and watched the Pony's and part of the Midgets games. It was SO MUCH FUN!! I LOVED that one on one time with Mason. It was really chilly by that time, so he and I sat up at the top of the bleachers, huddled in a blanket. It was just great. The kids played well and it was more like real football than Mason's game. We both love football and it was awesome me and him time. :) So then grabbed Syd, baths for the kids and waited for Rex to get home.
Sunday morning was church and then HERSHEY PARK!!! Someone had given us tickets this summer and we wanted to use them before they expired. I really wasn't all that excited about going because of all the things around the house that needed to be done. But I thought - sometimes you have to just throw caution to the wind and say the heck with it. I'm SO glad I did. We had a FANTASTIC time. The weather was GORGEOUS!!!! 70 degrees and blue skies. It wasn't crowded, just a light crowd. We only waited in line for 2 rides. Sydney was big enough to ride a couple grownup rides with us, so the four of us got to ride together. The day was filled with laughs and smiles and good family time. It was just wonderful!!! :)
We had a nice dinner together and the night ended with my husband telling me that during church he imagined us renewing our vows at our 10 yr anniversary in our church. And he imagined himself writing his own vows. And the gist of it was that he loves me more today than he did 10 yrs ago. Can you imagine a more perfect ending to the weekend?? I can't remember when I've had a better one!
A girl can't get any luckier!!!! :) I thanked God EXTRA this morning for my blessings!!!!
Just thought I'd share!
